Anne and Bobby welcome you to your stay on Loch Lomondside Shantron is a 5000 acre hill sheep farm with 2200 Scottish Blackface breeding ewes. You can partake of the peace and tranquility a highland farm has to offer, or you are welcome to watch us during the hustle and bustle of the busy lambing and shearing periods, and if you are feeling really fit you may wish to join us for a long hill walk when we gather the sheep in. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the farm, Loch and surrounding areas. Appreciate the magnificent colours of Autumn and the beauty of Winter when looking at the snow capped hills, remembering the log fire waiting to warm you up on those dark evenings. The farm is regularly used for the filming of "High Road". In fact Shantron back door is used as the entrance of Morag's Croft. Luss is the setting for Glendarroch. |

Explore the many different walking areas on the farm, from a gentle stroll up the Glen road to the Finlas reservoir for the more adventurous there is a 10 mile ridge walk round the farm boundary, climbing to 2275ft. at the highest point. Discover our rich and varied past, see the site of an Iron Age Fort on top of a glacial drumlin immediately behind Shemore Cottage, the 100ft deep gorge near the cottage where a Colquhoun leapt to safety from the MacGregors after the battle of Glen Fruin, or the cup and ring marked stone dating from the time of the Druids |
