Lomond Shores - the visitor experience for 2001
Lomond Shores is a multi-million pound visitor experience scheduled to open in the Summer of 2001. The site will cover 100 acres and will be centred around 3 main areas:
The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park's Orientation Centre providing information on the natural life of the area and how to understand and explore it
The main Visitor Attraction Building - a 4 story, glass building with audio presentations and all weather viewing platform on the roof
The Quayside Retail Complex - an eating and shopping experience bringing together the best of both from across Scotland
Lomond Shores is only 15 minutes from Glasgow Airport and is accessible by train from Glasgow and by road via the A82. It will not only be a gateway to the new National Park but will also have picnic and play areas and will promote the Loch's various recreational boating activities. The Visitor Attraction Building will also become a venue hosting exhibitions and cultural events.
